LEALPELL LEATHER

One of the core activities Fi Thomas Partnering in Design carries out is the promotion of top end design orientated products to the A & D market place. I have the privilege of working with Simple Studio to introduces the Lealpell Leather collection from Italy to Sydney and Melbourne.

Lealpell leather is a world leader in the production of high quality upholstery leathers for high-end contract and luxury residential projects as well as the prestige automotive, marine and executive aviation industry. Established over 40 years ago in Giussano Italy, Lealpell is a family-owned business producing Chromium tanned, Aniline dyed leathers from the finest quality European Cattle skins.

Renowned for their beautiful, full grain, pure Aniline hides, Lealpell leathers adorn the designs of some of the most exclusive brands in the world including B&B Italia, Living Divani, Poltrona Frau, Poliform, Edra, Molteni, Fendi and Aston Martin.

Simple Studio is proud to present a hand-picked range of 16 different qualities and over 300 colours to the Australian market. Should there not be a leather to suit your project contained within this kit, a further 28 qualities are available upon request.

All hides are stocked in Milan and are indented via air freight, with a lead time of approximately 10-14 days from order. As with all leather products, the scars, natural markings and subtle colour variations characterise the natural beauty of Aniline leathers and are not considered to be faults.

FREDDY'S CAFE

FREDDY’S CAFÉ REFURBISHMENT           FEBRUARY 2013

Last month I provided interior decoration services to Freddy’s Café in Sydney.
The owners wanted to give the café a facelift, make the space more contemporary and better suited to eat in within a relaxed space.
The furniture and finishes selected reflected the owner’s desire for a playful space combined with some sophisticated detailing on the joinery.
The use of colors in the wall tiles and furniture complimented the monochromatic backdrop on the walls, floors and ceiling. The use of timber added warmth and worked well within this color scheme.
The end result met the client’s brief and has been well received by Freddy’s customers.

Planinsek Art and Home Wares

Fi Thomas      Partnering in Design
As an interior decorator I am always on the look out for new interior products and home wares. I was very excited to be given the opportunity to promote the art of commercial abstract artist Chloe Planinsek to the Sydney design and retail market place.
Chloe is a successful artist exhibiting her art in Melbourne, Sydney and New York. Inspired by nature's landscapes and the ever changing cloud formations, Chloe brings a sense of harmony and fluidity to her paintings making them ideal for a home, café/restaurant or office environment.
Chloe has created the Glimpse Series, a printed version or snap shots of her original paintings that can be purchased either framed or unframed. This ensures that her art is available for all to enjoy at an affordable price point.
Following on from this Chloe has translated her art into printed fabric for cushions that make a room come alive. She has also created placemats and coasters to compliment any dinner party table set up.
For fun she has created a simple watch showcasing snapshots of her art to ensure you are always on time.
Please feel free to contact Fi Thomas for further information or organize a viewing of these unique and beautiful products. fi@planinsekart.com.au or 0421320393   Her home ware products and art make great presents to give for Christmas and birthdays.

FIVE WAYS TO INTRODUCE SOME COLOUR AND WHIMSY INTO A COMMERCIAL SPACE

Commercial spaces can be energizing and playful. Here are five simple ways to do that with color, patterned fabric and wallpaper.

Number 1:  An inexpensive way of introducing whimsy is through color and pattern in fabric selections on ottomans or stools

Number 2: Wallpaper adds interest and color to a wall, reception counter or feature panel. The affects are dramatic for minimal effort.

Number 3: Workstation tiles upholstered in a bright fabric can make a work environment positive and increase productivity.

Number 4: What is art? A fabric panel is an inexpensive way of     putting art on a wall and can be customized in size, shape and to have acoustic benefits as well.

And finally Number 5: The use of a colorful or patterned rug will welcome a visitor to an office and define a space.
